Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at towntherapy@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Massage therapy is a hands-on treatment that works on muscles and connective tissue to support pain relief, relaxation, and overall physical function. It is commonly used as a supportive therapy in both medical and wellness settings.

Massage has been shown to help reduce pain by decreasing muscle tension and improving soft-tissue mobility, particularly in areas like the neck, shoulders, and lower back. It also supports nervous system regulation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps the body shift out of stress mode and into a restorative state.

Many people experience reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood, and better sleep quality as a result of this nervous system response. Massage can also help reduce stiffness and improve range of motion, making everyday movement feel easier and more comfortable.

While massage does not replace medical care, it is a well-supported complementary therapy that can improve comfort, recovery, and overall well-being when used appropriately.

We offer a range of modalities and customize every session to your body and your goals. Depending on what you need that day, your session may include:

  • Swedish massage for relaxation and circulation
  • Deep tissue work for chronic tension and targeted relief
  • Sports therapy for performance, recovery, and mobility
  • Assisted stretching to improve flexibility and reduce stiffness
  • Craniosacral therapy for gentle nervous system support
  • Reiki for subtle energy balancing and deep calming
  • Sound healing using instruments such as bowls, chimes, and drums to support regulation and relaxation

Most clients choose a tailored blend rather than one single style. We’ll start with a quick check-in and then design the session around your stress level, muscle tension, and what will help you feel your best.

We’d love to support your group. We offer private group Sound Healing sessions and guided meditations for guests, family gatherings, celebrations, retreats, and corporate teams.

Sound Healing is a therapeutic practice that uses vibration and sound frequencies to help the body, mind, and nervous system return to a state of balance. Everything in the body operates through vibration, and specific instruments have been shown to influence the nervous system in ways that promote deep relaxation and regulation.

In our sessions, we use instruments such as drums, chimes, Tibetan singing bowls, and wind instruments. These sounds create gentle vibrational waves that the body can feel, not just hear. As the nervous system responds to these frequencies, many people experience a noticeable release of tension, a quieter mind, and a greater sense of clarity and ease.

Sound Healing works by helping the body shift out of chronic stress and into a parasympathetic, restorative state. When the nervous system is balanced, the body is better able to support its own natural processes of repair, resilience, and overall well-being.

During your session, you will be lying down or comfortably seated while the practitioner plays these instruments around, near, or in some cases lightly on the body. The experience is effortless. You don’t need to do anything other than relax and allow the sound and vibration to support your system.

This is an ideal practice for individuals who carry high levels of responsibility and mental load, and want a refined, efficient way to care for their body without extended time commitments. Think of it as a strategic reset for your body and mind.

Sound Healing primarily supports your autonomic nervous system, helping your body shift from stress mode into a calmer, restorative state. In clinical studies of Tibetan singing bowls and related sound-based interventions, people commonly show improvements in relaxation and reductions in anxiety.

Most clients notice benefits like:

  • Lower stress and a calmer baseline (easier to “turn off” mentally)
  • Reduced anxiety and improved mood (less tension, more ease)
  • Better sleep for some people, especially when stress is the root issue
  • Less physical tightness as the nervous system downshifts and the body releases guarding

For high-performing clients, the biggest win is often simple: you leave feeling more regulated, clearer, and noticeably more comfortable in your body, without needing a full spa day.
